TWENTY-ONE YEARS IN NEW YORK · NOW BYRON BAY

Emma

A master practitioner, not a clinic. One pair of hands, nine disciplines, and a room where nothing is rushed.

I didn’t set out to collect nine disciplines — each one arrived because a body in front of me needed something I didn’t yet have. Twenty-one years on, that accumulation has become a way of working, not a menu to choose from.

What doesn’t change is the pace. One person at a time, by appointment, in a quiet room — you arrive as you are, and we work with what’s actually there.

My story

I am Australian, but I learned this work in New York. I trained at the Swedish Institute and stayed for twenty-one years — building a private practice, and working in the treatment rooms of five-star Manhattan spas, where the standard is exacting and the hours are long.

In that time I kept adding to the work: Sculptural Face Lifting and Facial Gua Sha, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Myofascial Cupping, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Kinesiology and Reiki. Nine disciplines, one pair of hands. I don’t treat them as separate menus — I read the body in front of me and draw on whatever it is asking for.

After twenty-one years in New York, I came home to the slower beauty of Byron Bay. I work now from a quiet room at Nimbus Co, in the Arts & Industry Estate — by appointment, never rushed, one person at a time.

My intention is simple: to support the highest goals of my clients, and to promote healing on a physical and an energetic level. Every session includes history, assessment, treatment and education — so you leave understanding your own body a little better than when you arrived.

How a session works

We start with a conversation — what’s going on, what you’ve tried, what you want from the hour. Then I assess, and we begin.

From there the session is built around your body, not around a menu. Most sessions move between several modalities — remedial work into the fascia, buccal or gua sha on the face, craniosacral holds, energy work — depending on what the tissue and the nervous system are asking for.

You’ll leave with something to take home: an understanding of what I found, and one or two things you can do yourself. Most people sleep very well that night.
